School’s Preparedness for Dengue Fever

Rainy season brings lot of fun, greenery and cool climate with it.

However, it is also the season that Dengue Fever cases increases.

With this, schools are preparing for this scenario.

Biological Science high school teacher, Mr. Fernando Delos Reyes, said in an interview yesterday that the Lamberto Tirol National High School in Yapak, is habitually checking their drainage area and places where water usually deposits.

This is the primary method of controlling the habitat or breeding places of Aedes aegypti  mosquito.

Advisers particularly science teachers are also strictly monitoring “waste management’ and safety precaution in their school.

Delos Reyes added that aside from everyday cleaners they are closely checking that students are properly disposing their garbage in the assigned area.

Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral infection causing a severe flu-like illness and, sometimes causing a potentially lethal complication called severe dengue.
