Gun ban on the upcoming election, ready for implementation

The gun ban for the upcoming Village election on October 28, is ready for implementation.

City Comelec Officer, Atty. Jose Villanueva will strictly implement the gun ban which will start on Saturday, September 28.

During the gun ban, the permit to carry of firearms outside the residence will be suspended, and only those who got a Comelec gun ban exemption are allowed to carry a gun.

Atty. Villanueva reminded the public to follow the rules in order not to have regrets.

Meanwhile, the Aklan Provincial Police Office (APPO) is ready for the forthcoming election.

According to APPO Public Information Officer P03 Nida Gregas, they will put up tighter security.

Gregas added that drinking of alcohol and carrying anything that can kill during the gun ban will be met with severe punishment based on the directive of the Comelec.

Gregas also appealed to the public to follow the law of PNP and Comelec for a peaceful election.

The gun ban is expected to end on November 12, 2013.
