It is the
Caticlan jetty port’s target to reach the P300-million-income for 2013.
According
to Caticlan Jetty port administrator Nieven Maquirang, they’ve already
collected a total of P255 million from January to October of the current year.
Maquirang
however explained that the mentioned amount, which is the gross income, can
lower down due to the deductions for the operational expenses of the jetty
port.
The
Caticlan jetty port will make use of their revenues on different projects in
Boracay such as the upgrading of the Cagban Jetty port and other
infrastructures in the mentioned area.
Meanwhile,
the jetty port office is confident that the P300-million-target will be reached
because of the continuous influx of tourists in the island of Boracay.

Since when have they made any major improvements for the guest to the island? They collect millions.
The Caticlan port has long lines and broken air conditioning and the stairs leading to the boats have been in dis-repair and dangerous for years.
The Cagban port received a new roof recently, only to benefit the vendors selling their items. Guest still need to wait in the sun and rain under tents to purchase tickets.
I suggest they use the extra generated income to make the jetty ports "world class" that impress foreign visitors. The money belongs to the island; not the Government. A Presidential Task Force needs to be created with the Dept. of Tourism as has been done in regards to the redevelopment of Boracay.
We won't even talk about the environmental fees...
