Malay town intensified its disaster preparedness through
a Search and Rescue Training.
This was in line with the celebration of the National
Disaster Consciousness Month this July.
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council
led the said event in partnership with the LGU Malay and the Municipal Disaster
Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO).
Its aim is to train participants in giving proper
assistance in times of disaster.
The Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine
Coastguard (PCG), Bureau of Fire (BFP) and some concern agencies in the town of
Malay and the island of Boracay gave full support to the training.
This year’s theme Disaster Consciousness Month is
"Community Preparedness and Safety, Foundation for Development".
