Boracay
Island joined the celebration of World AIDS Day.
This is to
show support to people with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired
Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS).
The
Municipal Health Center (MHO) together with the Boracay Action Group,
Philippine Red Cross, Boracay PNP and other organizations in the island led the
parade for Aids Walk yesterday.
The parade
from beach front station 3 to station 2 was followed by a ‘candle lighting’ and
a short awareness campaign program.
Due to the
continuing spread of HIV/AIDS in the country, the MHO have made a free-AIDS consultation
yesterday in the island.
Meanwhile,
the World Aids Day is celebrated on the first day of December in different
parts of the world to promote unity in fighting the deadly HIV.
