With
more than 20 tribes expected to join this year’s Boracay Sto. Niño Ati-Atihan Festival.
Malay
Municipal Tourism Office (MTour) headed by Malay Chief Operations Officer Felix
de los Santos held a conference among participants early this morning at
Boracay Action Center.
This
is to discuss about the final schedules and different proposed activities for the
said celebration which will be held on January 9-11, 2015.
In
this regard, MTour Officer Gian Kyle Tapian said: “The contest will be divided
in 4 categories. These are the Tribal Category, Balik-ati Category,
Commercial/Modern category, and the individual Category.”
Meanwhile,
on the 9th of January judging for individual category will be held, while in
the 10th of January is the judging for the Tribal Category and the 11th of
January will be the feast of Sto. Niño.
The
Boracay Ati-atihan is also one of the events that attract tourists, the reason
why LGU aims to promote this as part of the Philippine’s Tourism Industry and
introduced as one of the Filipino cultures.
