Preparations for APEC Summit 2015 in Boracay now in full swing

The Local Government Unit of Malay is thoroughly preparing for the upcoming Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Boracay.

During the 1st Regular Session in Malay this last Tuesday, 2015 APEC Task Group Focal Person and SB Member Rowen Aguirre said that they provided funds for the upcoming ministerial meeting on the island.

Among of these is the repair of Boracay roads and the National road from Kalibo International Airport going to Caticlan, Malay in partnership with the National Government and the Department of Public Works and Hi-ways (DPWH).

As part of the Summit preparation, Aguirre added that they soon to build LED street lights on the island, and several security related meetings with the organizing committee have been made.

It was noted that the LGU Malay continuously have seminars for the upcoming APEC Summit this May that will be attended by over two 2,000 delegates from 21 countries together with their families.
