A Motorcycle Safety Seminar was launched by the Kabalikat Civicom in Boracay on Monday, May 12.

According to Kabalikat Civicom Taguig Chapter Vice President and National Motorcycle Head Martial Arjay Bimbo Amer, the safety seminar was their national project for their members who drive motorcycle.

Amer said that Kabalikat members are just volunteers so they need to be equipped or ready when conducting rescue operations.

Aside from this, the news regarding motorcycle accidents in the country is alarming according to Amer, and he believes that the number of such kind of accidents will be lessened through sharing of correct knowledge.

Meanwhile, Amer said the seminar was not only for their members but also for members of the community.

It was learned that there were members of motorbike riders in the island, and some residents and members of the Muslim community in the island that attended the seminar.

Included in the seminar topics, among others, were reminders on  discipline in driving, the wearing of helmet and safety gears, and that driving a motorcycle while under the influence of alcohol is prohibited.
