The town of Malay emerged as champion in 1st Joeben
Miraflores Rescue Lympics 2014 conducted on July 25 at the town of Kalibo.
According to Catherine Ong of MDRRMO the competition was
participated by 12 municipalities in Aklan.
She added that the competition has Four categories which our
Best Extrication, Best in Rescue Equipment Display, Best in Uniform and Best in
Fire Fighting with seven participants from each town.
Meanwhile, the town of Malay participants had one week training
with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) and some
trained volunteers.
Malay mayor John Yap himself also extended his greetings
to the team.
