The Local Government Unit of Malay is now eyeing a one way –lane policy to address traffic congestion in Boracay.

According to DOT Boracay Officer In-Charge Tim Ticar, this was discussed in a meeting in preparation for APEC Summit 2015.

Ticar said that the LGU needs to implement a re-routing and have a public hearing before it could be applied to Boracay.

Ticar added that the vehicles from Brgy. Manoc-Manoc can go to Brgy Yapak using the circumferential like in Sitio. Bolabog.

He also admitted that they expect some complaints from the commuters due to the possible discomfort brought by the scheme.

Meanwhile, the action plans are also reviewed by Transportation Office of Malay to alleviate the problem of traffic on the island especially on week-end and during the summer Season.
