The Local Government Unit of Malay is gradually implementing the one way lane on the island of Boracay.

Malay Senior Transportation Regulation Officer Cezar Oczon said that they are gradually doing the re-routing as part of their preparation for the APEC Ministerial Meeting this coming month of May.

This is to reduce the vehicle passing in the main road going to Station 3 or Cagban Jetty Port.

According to Oczon, “all private vehicles and heavy equipments including resort service from station 1 or Brgy. Yapak going to Cagban, Manoc-Manoc will turn left, in front of Crafts of Boracay or Bloomfield area.

However, he stressed that it has not been fully implemented because they have not been able to place signages in the areas where vehicles are passing by.

He added that if the said project is going to be successful, its implementation might become an ordinance or law.
