The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) price monitoring stepped up in Boracay recently.

DTI Aklan Provincial Director Diosdado Cadena Jr. lead the monitoring with DTI Development Specialist Rene Retiro.

They have found out during the monitoring that the goods sold in all the shops in the island are higher compared to their SRP or suggested retail price.

But despite a small difference, DTI advised store owners to review their SRP’s for selected basic necessities.

Cadena also advised the consumers in Boracay to go to markets that sell reasonable priced goods.

DTI also is also schedule to come back again in Boracay to monitor the other grocery stores and to check stores that complied the SRP.
