"Opening Salvo" for the Ati-Atihan
Festival 2015 will be held next month, Oct. 24.
Kalibo Sto. Nino Ati-Atihan Foundation, Inc.
(KASAFI) report states that, “Sadsad, Tamboe Salvo” opening program will be held
at Kalibo Pastrana Park and will start after the mass offering at Saint John the
Baptist Cathedral around three in the afternoon.
The sneak peak of the events will never be
complete without the merry-making, partying and fun later in the evening.
Aside from the intense street dancing and
beating of drums of Ati-Atihan groups to signal the start of Kalibo Ati-Atihan
fever, at Kalibo Magsaysay Park, the opening salvo will feature Iloilo's local
reggae band Bahaghari. Adding glamour and delight is the neon foam party
featuring the coolest disk jockeys from Iloilo, Manila and Kalibo.
The Ati-Atihan opening salvo is a prelude of a
week-long, colorful celebration of the Mother of All Philippine Festivals from
January 9 to 18, 2015.
Meanwhile, Ati-Atihan on January is a religious and
cultural festival held in honour of Senor Sto. Niño de Kalibo.
