STILL BEING AWAITED-BIDDING RESULT BY BORACAY TO HOST THE APEC 2015 SUMMIT

The result for Boracay’s bid to host the Apec Summit 2015 is not yet known, and the Apec Secretariat has not yet turned up.

In a phone interview, it was learned from the Municipal Tourism Office (MTO) Officer Felix de los Santos that there was yet no information received by their office on when the result of the bidding will be known, and when the visit of the Apec Secretariat will be, contrary to what was earlier projected.

For additional information, the MTO officer referred this reporter to the Department of Tourism (DOT) Boracay Sub-Office.

Over the phone, DOT Boracay Sub-Office staff, John Mabugat said they called the DOT 6 Regional Office on Thursday morning, July 4 regarding the matter and was told that the arrival of the Apec Secretariat was not known and that the arrival will be a surprise.

In an earlier report by 93.5 Easy Rock, it was reported that the bidding result and the visit of the Apec Secretariat would be on the first week of July.
