The island
of Boracay will not be having any problems with electricity supply this summer
season.
This is
what Boracay Island Chief Operations (BICO) Officer Glenn Sacapaño has said in
line with the possible power shortage and or fluctuations that may be
experienced on the island.
According
to Sacapaño, the stakeholders are already prepared for this, such as by having
their own generators.
However,
although Sacapaño believes that power shortages won’t be a problem for business
establishments, he admits that the residents will surely be affected.
It was
learned that Vice Governor Gabrielle Quimpo worries about the status of
electricity in Boracay this peak seasons following a problem met by AKELCO and
the NGCP while repairing their 138 kv transmission lines.
