Rabies can
be 100% prevented.
This is if
pet owners are responsible enough in feeding, taking care, and having their
pets vaccinated.
This is
what Aklan Provincial Coordinator for Rabies Control Program Dr. Ronald Lorenzo
has said in line with the celebration of “Rabies Awareness Month” this March.
Dr.
Lorenzo also said that animal bites should not be taken for granted because
their rabies may lead to death, and if bitten, a prompt medical attention is a
must.
Meanwhile,
part of the “Rabies Awareness Month” celebration, the Office of the Provincial
Veterinarian (OPVET) will conduct a free mass vaccination and free animal
consultation in the whole province.
OPVET
again reminds pet owners to be responsible with their pets to ensure safety
against the rabies virus.
