The Public Hearing for Base Market Values will be on April 4.

The schedule has been confirmed by SP Secretary Odon Bandiola in line with Malay and Boracay stakeholders’ request to re-schedule the said hearing.

The stakeholders have earlier appealed that the venue and date be changed so that many will be informed.

The hearing is regarding the Aklan Provincial Government’s formulation of 2015 General Revision of Real Property Assessment.

As stated on Section 219 of the Local Government Code and based on Republic Act No. 7160, the local government should have a general tax revision of real properties every three years.

It added that the taxes from real properties, as stated on the new base market values, will go to the Special Education Fund (SEF), construction and repair of public buildings and many others.
