DOT, confident on DOH’s measures to prevent the entry of Ebola virus in Boracay

Department of Tourism (DOT) is confident on Department of Health (DOH) measures to prevent the entry of Ebola virus that can reach the island of Boracay.

DOT Regional Director for Region VI, Atty. Helen Catalbas said, “The residents should not bother on the statements and rumors about the outbreak of the Ebola virus and the continued influx of visitors to the island.

According to her, although there is no recorded case of Ebola virus here in the Philippines, the DOH is having the awareness campaign in different airports together with the Bureau of Human Quarantine to prevent the spread of the deadly virus.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) first declared an international emergency outbreak of Ebola virus in West Africa, in order to control the epidemic.
