“Now, that PAGASA formally declared “Rainy Season,” it is necessary to know if what the preparations in the island especially concerning floods.” He said.

Ticar added that, “The previous disaster illustrates that the level of preparedness and ability to save lives in the wake of such events is not as high as was thought.”

Meanwhile, this station has also tried to re-interview ITP Construction Project Architect Victor Turingan but he cannot be contacted on his cell phone.

Furthermore, it was noted that excavation of the road going to the Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) of the Boracay Island Water Company (BIWC) has been started for pipe laying.

This is still a part of Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA)’s Flood Control Project.

The Flood Control Project began last year to finally put a stop on the island’s flooding problems.
