Months after the project implementation of “Lingap para sa Katutubo” of Boracay Island Water Company (BIWC) and Manila Water Foundation.

A total of 188 individual or 30 households of Ati Community in Boracay Island now enjoy the potable water.

“Noong wala pa kaming tubig dito sa Ati Village ay sobrang mahirap dahil di kami makapaglaba ng mabuti at di makaligo. At ngayong may tubig na ang bawat pamilya, sobrang masaya at di na masyadong magastos dahil buwanan ang bayad.” (Since we do not have water here in the Ati Village, it is very difficult because we cannot really take a bath and wash our clothes. And now that there is already water in every family, we are grateful and it is not also too expensive for us because of its monthly payments.) Ati Community said in a testimony.

Meanwhile, Manila Water Foundation funded Php353, 469.60 while Boracay Island Water Company (BIWC) provides Php 501, 506.71 for the said project.

The venture was also taken to offer each household a new water meter connection and to contribute in the health, safety and welfare of the said community.

Company’s Lingap project was carried borough by borough with work which was started on August 7, 2014 and completed last September 5, 2014.
