DOLE Aklan has Industry-Wide Assessment in Boracay

Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Aklan will conduct an Industry-Wide Assessment in Boracay on September 30, 2014.

Office of DOLE Aklan Provincial Head Vidiolo Salvacion said, “This is to expand the assessment coverage of DOLE regional offices and to ensure that they meet their target establishments for compliance visits, or assessment.”

Salvacion further explains that, “the Industry-Wide Assessment of DOLE aims to inform the industry of their responsibility to the workers, as well as reminding the full and voluntary compliance with all laws, involving worker’s safety and health and other matters.”

Meanwhile, Assessment industry, one of the five assessment modalities that DOLE Administrative Order No. 404 Series of 2014 prescribes to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of implementation of the new Labor Laws Compliance System, involves the mobilization of industry tripartite councils (ITCs) and associations.

Subject to the peculiarity of the industry, the industry-wide assessment shall be conducted in one venue with the involvement of various establishment owners in the island together with not more than ten employees.
