Aklan Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) is now evaluating the Revised Zoning Ordinance from the municipality of Malay.

During the SP Regular Session this Wednesday, the council put this on the table and decided to have a quorum in order to discuss and for the approval thereof.

It can be recalled that Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Malay passed the said ordinance to organize the building constructions in the municipality especially in the island of Boracay.

Meanwhile, a 'Zoning Ordinance' is a written regulations and laws that define how property in specific geographic zones can be used.

Zoning ordinances specify whether zones can be used for residential or commercial purposes, and may also regulate lot size, placement, bulk (or density) and the height of structures.
