The
Caticlan Elementary School and Malay National High School were hailed champions
on the first ever Drum, Lyre and Bugle contest Wednesday.
Three
schools for elementary level and 3 schools for the high school level joined in
the said contest.
In the
Elementary Level, the consolation prizes went to the Malay ES and Argao ES,
while Balabag ES took home the second place, Yapak ES for the first place, and
Caticlan Elementary School bagged the championship.
With the
Secondary Level, Boracay NHS placed second, Lamberto NHS at 1st
place while Malay National High School championed.
Present
during the competition were members of the LGU Malay led by Vice Mayor Wilbec
Gelito and SB Officials, while the Guest of Honor was Dr. Jesse M. Gomez,
School Division Superintendent of the Department of Education (DepEd) Aklan.
The Malay
11th Fiesta De Obreros was celebrated and joined by its 17
Barangays.
