The first
ever Drum, Lyre and Bugle competition of the DepEd Malay will be held
Wednesday, April 30.
The event
is part of the celebration of the Malay Municipal/Parochial Fiesta or 11th
Fiesta de Obreros on Thursday, May 1.
Elementary
and secondary schools from the town of Malay and schools from Boracay Island
are participating.
Participants
will be given cash advances wherein the mainland elementary schools will
receive P3, 500.00, and the island elementary schools will receive P7, 500.00
while all high schools will receive P8, 000.00 cash advance.
However,
these cash advances are to be deducted from the prizes of the corresponding
winners of the competition.
Meanwhile,
in the Elementary School Level, the First Place will receive a P12, 000.00
prize plus a plaque worth P1, 000. 00. The Second Place will receive P10,
000.00 and a plaque worth P1, 000. 00, while the Third Place will receive P9,
000.00 and also a plaque worth P1, 000. 00.
For
Consolation Prize, the non winning groups will receive P8, 000.00.
For the
Secondary School Level, the First Place will receive P18, 000.00, the Second
Place a prize of P16, 000.00, while the Third Place will be givenP14, 000.00,
and the Fourth Place P12, 000.00.
The First,
Second, Third and Fourth placers will also receive a plaque worth P1, 000.00
each.
The
competition is being spearheaded by Mr. Jake Sullano of the DepEd Malay and the
competition is scheduled to commence at 2pm Wednesday, April 30 at the Malay
Public Plaza.
