MALAY'S 64th FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY - tO BE COMMEMORATED

The 64th Founding Anniversary of Malay will be celebrated this June 15, 2013.

Malay Municipal Tourism Officer, Felix De Los Santos said in an interview with Easy Rock and Yes FM Boracay that in connection to the celebrations, “Seedling Potting,” and a “Family Day” for Municipal employees will be held on June 12.

On June 14, a “Job Fair” by the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) is scheduled. A Mainland marathon and cycling by the Municipal Transportation Unit under the Mayor’s Office will also take place during the day, and at night time, the bands “Binhi” from Iloilo, and “Sakramento” from Paradise Garden, Boracay Island will perform a back to back concert.

During the 64th Foundation Day of Malay itself, a mass will start the celebrations at 7:30 in the morning, followed by a parade, and a Foundation Day program wherein the awarding of the top 10 taxpayers of Malay shall take place.

“Larong Lahi” (games of ancestors) will be held in the afternoon, and a “Grand Binayle” (public dance) will cap the celebrations to be held at the Mainland of Malay.

Asked for concluding message during the interview held on Thursday, June 06, he added, “If you love Boracay, do something, share something, act something for sustainable globally competitive tourism industry in the Island of Boracay, and Municipality of Malay.”
