SUCCESSIVE POWER INTERRUPTIONS iN SOME AREAS OF BORACAY oN WEDNESDAY, EXPLAINED bY AKELCO

The successive power interruptions on Wednesday, June 5 at some areas of Boracay Island were explained by Akelco.

According to Akelco Boracay Area Engineer, Arnaldo Arboleda, the bad weather during the dawn of Wednesday which caused the brown out was not expected.

Arboleda said that in their inspection of their electric lines, it was found out that in connection to the bad weather, coconut leaves at the area of Balabag Village were the cause of the loss of electric power.

The power interruptions meanwhile caused confusion among the public, since allegedly, they were not informed ahead so they could have prepared specially that classes had already opened in Boracay for the current school year.

On the other hand, Arboleda informed the residents and stakeholders of Boracay Island that Akelco will right away give advisory if the electric company will have power interruptions so residents and the public can prepare.
